San Diego Vacation

If you're looking for a vacation destination to please everyone, look no farther than a San Diego!

A San Diego Vacation has everything imaginable for the whole family no matter how diverse their interests. How about...

A baseball game with the San Diego Padres?

Oceanography? San Diego is home to one of the largest man make bays and recreational facilities, Mission Bay.

How about history? There's the San Diego Mission founded by Father Junipero Serra.

Or the Military. Take a Stroll down the piers in the southern part of the city and see the Naval shipyard and part of the Pacific Fleet.

But there's so much more to San Diego. The city boasts it's own "old Town" gaslight district. Filled with fine dining and shopping. it's a quiet alternative to some of the more active things to do around town.

There are scenic harbor tours, open shopping marts complete with sidewalk entertainment. Fish and seafood restaurants galore that make some of the most fantastic offerings right from the Pacific.

If you're planning a vacation to California, you should really consider the San Diego area as your primary vacation destination spot. There is so much to do and see that it would literally take several vacation times just to take it all in.

MUST SEE on any San Diego Vacation.... The San Diego Zoo! This is by far the absolute best zoo environment ever! Heck, the animals actually prefer to stay here instead of being returned to the wild. Talk about care and feeding! The zoo boasts habitats and environments where the animals can be easily watched and enjoyed.

To make your San Diego vacation is one to remember, be sure to start plenty ahead of time. It’s possible to purchase tickets online for such attractions as Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, which are usually available at a discount when purchasing in advance. There is something for everyone, depending on what you have in mind. Torrey Pines State Park offers room to run with viewing of wild rare birds and a stately abundance of pine trees, which of course, gives the historic park its name.

The Zoo however is actually located in Balboa Park. With the architecture, flora and fauna in this area alone, it's worth a week or more of your time!

Still, with such a wide variety of activities, events, restaurants, and lodging, you can plan your trip on a budget or spend lavishly, whichever you prefer. Such historic sites as the Hotel del Coronado, offer upscale shopping, dining, and informative tours as well as fine overnight accommodations. Many festive occasions take place at this ocean side historic landmark; grand weddings being the most popular. There are many family friendly activities also available, such as bike rentals, swimming, and sand toys to rent. This grand old hotel is also rumored to be haunted, something for those who enjoy the paranormal!

Another must see attraction is Sea World, home of Shamu and as of December, 2004, Baby Shamu, the killer whales. These spectacular creatures put on shows daily exhibiting their unique relationships and many talents. Don't think for a minute though that this is the usual man using animals. These sea creatures along with all animals at the zoo, and Wild Animal Park all receive care we humans only wish we could get.

A good strategy for an enjoyable San Diego Vacation is to carefully plan and allow enough time to enjoy the selected attractions. There's no way anyone can see everything in a few short weeks so why even try.

The best bet is to consider a San Diego vacation rental property instead of a hotel, and simply enjoy what you want to see. Remind yourself that you can return to see more if you so desire. Where ever you stay and attractions you see, you won't be disappointed by the over abundance of things to do or experience in San Diego.

All Kinds of Rental Terms and Definitions:

  • CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) -- A provision in a car rental contract in which the rental company charges an extra fee to the renter and in turn agrees to waive its right to recoup losses due to damage inflicted upon the vehicle. • Booking -- This is the stage where the renter makes pays the owner a deposit or down payment, the amount not exceeding 25 % of the whole rent (deposit included) if the rental agreement is done through a professional intermediary. If the owner is not a professional, the amount is agreed upon freely, but generally the same percentage is observed. Caution : do not pay any amount before signing a written contract.

  • Liability -- A type of insurance that covers the renter of a vehicle in the event that damage or bodily harm is inflicted to persons or property outside of the rental vehicle. Most liability insurances are rendered void in the case of driver negligence, such as operating under the influence.
