Camping Stove

Camping is a lot more fun with the Right Camping Stove and other Equipment

Camping is one of the best ways to bring a family closer together. The idea of being WITHOUT the conveniences of modern life may sound daunting but all you really need is a couple of good pieces of camping gear.

The first is, of course, a tent, along with sleeping bags. The only other thing needed for a camping adventure is a camp stove. Now a stove is something that's important unless you prefer cooking on an open fire. This is great for a night or two but can quickly become tiresome.

Camping is a great way for a family to get back in touch. Leave the Gameboys, IPODS and other electronic gadgets at home and simply "be". It could be brought the first few days especially if you have teenagers but as they adjust, they too will learn a new skill called conversation.

So back to the camp gear. The equipment available today can be purchased or rented and is very advanced and lightweight. Unlike camping stoves of old that used special liquid fuels like kerosene, todays stoves mainly use propane bottles found at any hardware store.

Starting the newer stoves doesn't mean you need to bring a flint stick or even matches. Todays campground or portable stoves offer an auto ignition system similar to what's available in many kitchen ranges and BBQ's.

The new camp stoves are very different and made of lightweight materials. This allows you to set up camp farther off the beaten path if this is your desire.

Newer models of camping stoves have several burners that all can be used together. Unlike the limitations of the older stoves. Add in the easy to store and use disposable tanks of propane and the result is a very easy to use food heating and preparation area that can be set up anywhere in the cap.

There are camping stoves that even offer oven capability to allow baking. Personally a camping trip is just that, camping, not trying to bring the world with you into the wilderness.

The idea is to live more simply in a tent, surrounded by nature with your family cooking your meals on an open fire or camp stove. There are so many helpful pieces of equipment for camping, that the food preparation no longer needs to take up as much of your time.

This camping stuff, including the heat and eat food is a consideration if you aren't interested in planning meals ahead of time. The latest freeze dried and pre prepared food can be heating quickly on a camping stove. This allows you much more time for hiking, and exploring.

Who would have guessed a camping stove, a tent and some sleeping bags could bring a family back together....but it can and has done it's magic for many families over the years.
